2015 : Al-Mustapha for President

Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, former Chief Security Officer to late military ruler, Gen. Sani Abacha, who was acquitted and discharged July 12 by the Appeal Court in Lagos over the June 4, 1996 murder of heroine of democracy, Alhaja Kudirat Abiola might be one of the presidential aspirants come 2015.
Al-Mustapha visit to Kaduna on Thursday almost turned to a political rally as various groups that came to welcome him urged him to contest for the 2015 presidential election.
Major Al-Mustapha, arrived Kaduna state metropolis from Zaria where he paid a visit to the Emir of Zazzau, Dr. Shehu Idris around 2.10pm.
Hundreds of youths trooped out to receive him and chanted, “ 2015: Major Al-Mustapha for president.”
Al-Mustapha seized the moment and responding to the youths under the umbrella of Arewa Youth Forum (AYF) said: “For those of you that believe there is hopelessness in the country, we must all team up to make the direction for change. You may not understand now but when the direction is defined, when the rail is laid you will know it.
I was told that when I was released in Lagos, youths in Kaduna, Kano and other parts of the North trooped out to celebrate my release. Those in the south also did same, because I was told. I thought I was forgotten but this has shown me that you love me and I love you all”.
According to him, his release was a victory for democracy and that he would meet with all youth bodies and organizations in both North and South in order to chart a new course.

Al-Mustapha was a scapegoat- Fani-Kayode

Fani-Kayode (r) Mustapha (m) Sam Nda Isaiah
A former minister of Aviation in Nigeria, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has defended Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, former Chief Security Officer to late military ruler, Gen. Sani Abacha, who was acquitted and discharged July 12 by the Appeal Court in Lagos over the June 4, 1996 murder of heroine of democracy, Alhaja Kudirat Abiola.  He said Al-Mustapha was a scapegoat.
Below are the words of Fani-Kayode, who recently joined the yet to be registered All Progressive Congress (APC) from the
People Democratic Party (PDP):
“My view is that it is the same people that killed MKO Abiola, Abacha, Bola Ige, Dikibo, Harry Marshal, Funso Williams, Alfred Rewane and so many others that killed Kudirat. The conspiracy of the system is much deeper and more complex than the average Nigerian can possibly fathom. When the truth comes out people will be shocked. All I can say is that I am firmly of the view that Mustapha was just a scapegoat and that those that actually ordered the killing of Kudirat wanted to hang it on him just to silence him and keep him out of circulation. When this man tells the nation what he knows and what he went through at the hands of those who succeeded Abacha this country will be shaken to its very foundation.

15 years is a long time to lock someone up behind bars without ANY evidence against him . . . Guilt by association has no place in any civilised society. If it did every single government official that has held public office since 1960 would be in jail today. We must not lock people up simply out of sentiment or suspicion. There MUST be evidence of wrongdoing. I fought Abacha and Al Mustapha when most people commenting here could barely read or write and when some of them were still wearing diapers. I did so far more than most did and I had to leave my country for 5 long years and live in exile because of it. Yet I will not go down the road of vengeance or of persecuting and punishing my old adversaries without any firm and hard evidence. I assure you that those that ordered those killings have never spent one day in jail and going by the way Nigerians behave they probably never will because our people are not asking the right questions or demanding to hear the right answers. The killers of Kudi and others have been running the country and the system for many years and I assure you that the greatest threat to them today is probably Al Mustapha because he knows so much. That is why I am glad that he is out of prison. I pray that Kudirat’s real killers are eventually exposed and convicted just as I pray that the killers of ALL the other people that were assassinated at that time in our history, before then and after then are also exposed and prosecuted”.

I did not ask Jonathan to free Al- Mustapha – T.B. Joshua

Prophet TB Joshua has denied the story by an online publication that he masterminded the freedom of Major Al-Mustapha by President Goodluck Jonathan who the publication allegedly bribe the Appeal Court justice, Justice Amina Augie to the tune of $2 million because of a prophesy by T B Joshua that Jonathan would not win the 2015 elections except he freed Al-Mustapha.
Femi Falana and Professor Chidi Odinkalu had also debunked the story by the gossip site as a pack of lies.

Below is the statement from T B Joshua;
COUNT ME OUT OF THE POLITICS OF HATRED
This is an official statement from Prophet T.B. Joshua. My attention has been drawn to an online article headlined ‘Pastor T.B. Joshua Revealed As Man Behind Al-Mustapha’s Release’ written by Sahara Reporters.
This article is from the enemy. They should not drag me into the issue of politics. If I was ever to go to Aso Rock, I would go publicly. I have already told you how I met Al-Mustapha. Don’t put words in my mouth. I explained that I got to know him many years ago when a petition was addressed to General Bamaiyi who was the then Chairman of the NDLEA. I spent nine days with them for investigation and they found the whole thing to be a fabrication.

From there, I was taken to see the president where I met Mustapha. I was able to reveal to them who I am by telling them what was to come as a prophet. I told him that he would spend several years in prison and would be finally released which no one else had ever told him. That is why you saw him coming here as his first port of call. Where there is no vision, people perish.

It is therefore very malicious for Sahara Reporters to attach any political meanings to Al-Mustapha’s visit. At no time did I tell President Jonathan that his political fortune rested with setting Al-Mustapha free, neither did I ever suggest that Chief James Ibori, former Delta State Governor be brought back to Nigeria to assist the president in the 2015 presidential election.

Count me out of the politics of hatred.
