Obesere budgets N20M for movie on rape scandal

Eclectic Fuji musician, Alhaji Abass Akande popularly known as Obesere has concluded  plans to shoot a blockbuster movie on rape. The Fuji singer who was recently hit by a rape scandal is taking the advantage of the situation by turning it into a film.

According to our findings, Obesere has written a script about rape and is currently shopping for artistes who will fit into the characters. It is not yet certain if the famous musician will be starring in the movie, but prominent artistes are sure to take the lead in the movie. Unconfirmed reports also have it that a total sum of N20 million has been budgeted for the project.

Further digs revealed that the movie is to expose men and women who blackmail people with rape scandal and to capture tricks and methods used by rapists. Explaining further, Obesere’s publicist, Deola Adeoti said, “the movie is targeted at unraveling the mystery behind the rape scandal.”

“A whole lot of things have been read and said about him in the past few weeks, but I think this movie will tell the world the plain truth,” he added.

The 29-year-old businesswoman, Olanike Olaiya, who was allegedly raped by popular Fuji musician, Alhaji Abass Akande, also known as Obesere, has called on police authorities not to allow the matter to be swept under the carpet so that she will not die, stressing that she might have been a victim of ritual as her reproductive organ is in pain since the incident.

“As I speak with you, I am still going through pains. After the bleeding stopped, I have continued to have problems with my reproductive organs. That was why I went to the police, I wanted them to investigate and prosecute him.

“But what I am getting from the IPO is terrible. He is trying to destroy the case and set Obesere free at the expense of my life and dignity.

“He discarded the medical report from the General Hospital and he upheld that of Obesere’s private hospital, saying their report was the correct one. As I speak with you I am not feeling well at all.”

Popular Fuji musician,  Alhaji Abass Akande, popularly known as Obesere, has been arrested  by the Police in Lagos State for allegedly raping a 29-year-old business woman, Miss Olanike Olaiya in his Okota residence, Lagos.

The victim, who took the matter to the Police, also narrated her ordeal in the hands of the musician whose shows generally fascinate society women.
According to Olaiya, a  National Diploma graduate of business administration from Ibadan Polytechnic, “I got to know  Obesere through one of my friends, Mrs Bola Okoro. She told me that Obesere would assist me in my business.

“I deal in office equipment and when I contacted Obesere, he asked me to meet him in his family house at Okota.  When I  met him, I  introduced my business to him and he promised to connect me to some of his friends in Dubai who would sell  goods to me on credit.

“After the discussion, he started demanding for sex and I refused and when I wanted to leave, he insisted I should sleep over in his house because it was late and he claimed that it was dangerous to go out late in the night in his area.

“I thought he was a responsible man and I decided to sleep over, but at the dead of the night, he came into the room where I slept and pounced on me.
“He raped me and afterwards inserted a ring he wore into my  private part  and I started bleeding. He hurriedly  left me in the room saying he had an appointment to fulfil.

“I could not bear the trauma and the bleeding and I reported the matter  to the police.”
Vanguard gathered that Obesere was first arrested last Wednesday by the Police at Isolo Police Division, where Olaiya reported the matter. He was subsequently released on administrative bail.

He  was later re-arrested on Monday, when medical examination conducted on Olaiya revealed that she was actually raped and the Divisional Police Officer, Isolo,  Adamu Ibrahim, was said to have ordered the transfer of the matter to State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, for further investigation.

Sources disclosed that Obesere’s arrest was made possible through a warrant of arrest issued by the Chief Magistrate of Isolo Magistrate Court, Mrs Kike Bukola Ayeye, as he had declined to honour several police invitations sent to his  house at Johnson Famiye Street, Canal Estate, Ago, Okota.

Police sources also said Obesere in his statement denied ever raping Olaiya, rather he claimed she was his lover and they made love when she visited him.
The source added that Obesere claimed he asked her to go to a private hospital for treatment when she complained that she was bleeding, but he was surprised when she reported to the police that she was raped.
