Pastor had sex with teens to 'cure' their homosexuality

An Iowa pastor was arrested on suspicion of sexual exploitation after several victims came forward claiming he had sexual encounters with them when they were teenage boys to help them gain "sexual purity" in the eyes of God.
A former youth pastor in Council Bluffs, Iowa claims he had sex with teenage boys because it was his duty "to help [them] with homosexual urges by praying while he had sexual contact with [them]." Brent Girouex, 31, was arrested on 60 counts of suspicion of sexual exploitation by a counselor or therapist after authorities found out about his actions.
In February Girouex confessed to Council Bluffs police detectives that he had sexual relations with four young men starting in 2007 to help them gain "sexual purity" in the eyes of God. However, at least eight men have come forward with complaints that the pastor molested them.
Girouex told investigators that the longest relationship he had with any of the victims lasted four years. He said that it started
when the boy was 14 years old and that the "mutual" contact took place 25 to 50 times. The victim, who is now an adult, told investigators the real number of times was between 50 and 100 times.
Three of the victims who came forward told authorities the sexual encounters took place at Girouex's house. They all said that they went there to be helped with "sexual purity."
“When they would ejaculate, they would be getting rid of the evil thoughts in their mind,” Girouex allegedly told detectives.
Authorities are further investigating the case. Girouex is free on $30,000 bond.

Supreme Court to Reconsider Case of Woman Fired for Being 'Irresistible'

A woman fired from her job for being too "irresistible" will get another chance at her sex-discrimination lawsuit after the Iowa Supreme Court ruled this week to reconsider the case.
Melissa Nelson says she spent 10 happy years working as a dental hygienist for Dr. James Knight until he blindsided her with a pink slip, claiming Nelson was a threat to his marriage.
The all-male Iowa State Supreme Court ruled in December that Knight was within his legal rights when he fired Nelson because the termination was not based on gender.
Knight's attorney says the decision to terminate Nelson was legal, telling ABC News he believes the court will reaffirm its decision because "the law has not changed."
"Dr. Knight's dismissal of Mrs. Nelson was perfectly legal according to all of the well-established case law not only in Iowa but in every other jurisdiction that has considered similar claims," attorney Stu Cochrane said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Nelson hopes that even if the law hasn't changed, how the judges interpret it will.
"I can tell you she was surprised and delighted by the news that the Iowa Supreme Court has withdrawn its earlier ruling," Nelson's attorney, Paige Fiedler, told ABC News in a statement. "Not only does this breathe new life into her court case, it eliminates what many of us believed was a harmful legal and misguided precedent."
