The relative peace  in the nation’s health sector may soon be
disrupted as health workers under the auspices of the Joint Health
Workers Union, JOHESU, on Thursday, threatened a nationwide  indefinite
strike from April 29,  should the Federal Government fail to meet its
demands on or before April 29, 2014.
President of the Nigerian
Union of Allied Health Professionals, NUAHP, Mr. Felix
Olukayode-Faniran, one of the  leaders of JOHESU, who issued the warning
in Lagos, said Nigerians should not blame health workers if the planned
strike materialised by the end of the month.
According to
him, when the union concluded its nationwide strike in January, “we told
the government that we are going to embark on another nationwide
strike, but we have deliberately decided not to embark on that
nation-wide strike because of our love for Nigerians."
