Oshiomhole lauds military for defending democracy

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has commended officers and men of the Nigerian Army for defending the country’s democracy as well as its territorial integrity.

He made the commendation when he received students of the Nigerian Army College of Logistics, Lagos, who visited him in Benin, Edo State.

He said: “We are happy and proud of the role of the Nigerian Armed Forces in protecting, not only the territorial integrity of the country and defending democracy, but also for playing an increasing role in terms of local security, which ordinarily is not part of the mandate of the Army.

“For this and many more, we cannot but convey through you to the military authorities, appreciation not only of the government but indeed, the people of Edo State.”
