FUNKE AKINDELE: My Marriage lasted only two months

In an interview with E-47, she admitted that she only enjoyed the first two months and claimed that she was abused severally, as the union went awry.
The popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, has spoken candidly for the first time about her failed marriage with Kehinde Oloyede, admitting that the union lasted only two months before controversies set in.
You can read about the crashed marriage here: http://blazingchild.blogspot.com/2013/07/nollywood-star-akindele-separated-from.html and her immediate denial : http://blazingchild.blogspot.com/2013/07/my-marriage-intact-funke-akindele.html. She also granted her first interview on the crashed marriage, claiming that she can be laughed at: http://blazingchild.blogspot.com/2013/07/failed-marriage-you-can-laugh-at-me.html.

Below is her words in the interview with E-47:

“I was abused emotionally and verbally. Really, I felt we could work things out when the trouble started two months after the marriage, but I made up my mind and shut the door of the marriage at him when the trouble was coming to me too much.
I stooped to conquer him; buried my fame and name to make him my husband, but it did not work. At a point in time, I asked if it’s not the same man that was all over me before we married. He nearly got me off my career. He called me severally; I did not pick his calls but when he realized my silence was tormenting him, he took to Facebook. It’s alright. Ask him when did he come to my house last? He left me here in my rented apartment with nothing and he will just dash in and dash out. He gets abusive, caustic anytime we have a misunderstanding and often told me to my face, he’s going to his wife in Oshodi.”
At Oshodi, she said, she received a warm welcome from the wife, Fadekemi, but constant humiliation from Kehinde.

Failed Marriage: You can laugh at me- Funke Akindele

“Yes my marriage has crashed. Let the people who are laughing at me continue laughing. My job, after all, is to make people laugh. Let those who are without sins or mistakes cast the first stone. Let them continue judging me. God is the overall judge; He is the one I look up to,”
Those were the word of Funke Akindele in an interview on Saturday.
The popular Nollywood actress, commonly known as Jenifa said she is not bother by what might be said about her broken marriage which barely survives one year. She also claimed that she does not bear grudges with her estranged husband, Kehinde Oloyede, though she has deleted his name from her facebook and twitter account.
She added that: “It’s my private life. I know I am a public figure but I am entitled to some privacy, at least. What has happened has happened; no one is beyond mistakes. I will take corrections from this and apply where necessary from now on. I bear Mr. Kehinde Oloyede no ill feelings. I will address this issue now and, thereafter, face my career and try to concentrate on the things I have on my plate at the moment.”
Mr. Oloyede had last Monday, purportedly posted a message on his Facebook page, announcing the breakup.
“It’s with heavy heart that I am announcing the separation of me and my wife, Mrs. Olufunke Akindele. We’ve both agreed to go our separate ways because of irreconcilable differences. We are still best of friends and we would forever remain good friends,” he said in the post.
He was said to have followed up with this: “Am doing just fine and getting along without you. Don’t need you anymore in my life. You are the greatest mistake I have made in recent time…Kehinde Oloyede.”
He deleted the messages soon after following reported rebuttals and threat to sue media organisations by Funke Akindele for publishing untrue stories about her marriage. According to a reliable source, Funke Akindele was said to have made pleads to Oloyede for reconciliation but he refused all approaches.
However, Funke Akindele confirmed the break up on Friday through her elder sister and publicist, who is the manager and principal consultant of Neecee Entertainment, Ayo Ola-Muhammed. She issued a press release which read thus:
“Dear friends, on behalf of our client, star actress, Funke Akindele, we want to formally inform you that after due consultation and consideration, she’s now separated from Mr. Kehinde Oloyede as his wife.

She, hereby, urges her fans and all concerned to pray and wish her the best as she moves on in her career. Kindly note that this is the first and only official statement from Funke Akindele on the matter, and will be glad if her wish is respected. Thank you.”

My marriage intact - Funke Akindele

Nollywood Star actress Funke Akindele, has finally cleared the air on her failed marriage rumour. My marriage is intact, she allegedly said in an SMS message to The Nation newspaper.
The message reads: “I read in the newspaper yesterday that I am divorced. What proof do you have? And I am taking this to court because my marriage is intact. You guys are rumour mongers. Funke Akindele Oloyede.”
It was reported on Tuesday that the actress may have been separated from her husband, Alhaji Kehinde Oloyede, son of former Iyaloja of Oshodi market.
Oloyede on Monday announced a “separation” via his facebook page. He said: “It is with heavy heart that I am announcing the separation of me and my wife, Mrs Olufunke Akindele. We have both agreed to go our separate ways because of irreconcilable differences. We are still best of friends and we would forever remain good friends.”
The statement, which the actress’ husband has since deleted from his facebook wall, generated concerns among the star’s fans, who made the issue a major topic on social media platforms.
Reports say her husband may have removed the “notice of separation,” including a more defiance follow-up post from his facebook wall, due to pressure from friends and family members. The actress is said to have been crying inconsolably since the incident, fearing criticisms by her fans and her clients’ reactions.
Funke, a film producer and ambassador of several brands, including telecommunications giant, Globacom, got married to Oloyede 14 months ago in a grand ceremony held in Lagos.
Funke’s decision to marry the real estate business man, was severely criticised by her fans who wondered why she should get involved in polygamy. She rebuffed critics on one occasion, saying: “I can tell you authoritatively that my husband is not married to anyone else. Yes, he has beautiful children, who are not mine and we have a cordial relationship, which dates back to even before we got married.”
On another occasion, she told her critics: “Will you be happier if I had married someone who didn’t have children, seems so perfect, put on my make-up and fake smile on the red carpet and start weeping when I get home? About my in-laws, they are very wonderful and supportive and my parents and siblings as well. ”
Funke and husband are known to be living separately since they got married. Oloyede is said to visit Funke occasionally. Story of Oloyede’s last child by another woman came about the same time that the rumour of Funke’s pregnancy went viral on social media. The actress was later said to have a miscarriage.
Meanwhile, apart from deleting the statement from his facebook wall, Oloyede is yet to refute the announcement in any way.

Information from The Nation newspaper was used in this report.
