Snakes sack council workers in Katsina

The Bakori Council Transition Committee Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Magaji, on Friday urged the Katsina State Government to support the rehabilitation of the council secretariat because of the cases of snake bite that threatened council workers, most of whom now stay away from work.

Magaji made the call when he received a delegation of the state government led by the state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba, on tour of the council on Friday.

The chairman noted that when he assumed office, he rehabilitated the council’s conference hall.

He also noted that the hall, which was initially threatened by snakes, was now used to conduct official engagements and conferences.

He stressed the need for the complete rehabilitation of the secretariat, which would enhance workers activities, adding that at present, many offices remained unused due to their bad condition.
