UCL: Barcelona down Man City, PSG put four past Leverkusen

Two goals courtesy of Lionel Messi and Dani Alves were all Bracelona needed to emerge victorious at the Etihad stadium against a Manchester City team that was reduced to ten men.

In Germany, two goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and a goal each from Blaise Matuidi and Yohan Cabaye ensured Paris Saint German humbles Bayer Levrkusen at the Bay Arena.

It was a brave effort from ten-man Manchester City but in the end, the numerical difference told and Barcelona took full advantage. A Lionel Messi penalty after the No10 had been brought down by Martín Demichelis and a sublime team goal finished by Daniel Alves has given City a lot to do in the second leg.

For PSG,  it was a perfect away performance as they overcame Leverkusen by four goals to nil. Blaise Matuidi started things early on and after two Zlatan Ibrahimović strikes; Yohan Cabaye's first goal for the club put the game to bed.

On Wednesday, Arsenal will host holders, Bayern Munich while Athletico Madrid will travel to Milan to face Mario Balotelli and teammates for a place in the quarter finals.
