René Angélil, Celine Dion's 72-year-old husband and manager, has suffered another bout with throat cancer.Dion, 45, said in a statement that Angélil was still recuperating at home in Las Vegas after doctors successfully removed a tumor from his throat on December 23.
He previously battled throat cancer in 1999.
Dion and Angélil have a 13-year-old son together and 4-year-old twin boys.
The Canadian singer also said that Angélil hoped to focus on family and his recovery, and took a time out from his work.
"I don't want René to stress out with work-related issues," Dion said. "I want him to focus on getting back to 100 percent. I've been doing my shows at the Colosseum and everything's under control."
"At home we've been spending a lot of quality time with the family. We feel very fortunate that we've been able to get the best care possible and we thank God every day for helping us to get through this ordeal," she added.
