Al-Mustapha is still in the Nigerian army

The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Ibrahim Attahiru has said that Major Hamzat Al Mustapha, who was recently discharged and acquitted  of murder and conspiracy charges by the Appeal Court In Lagos state,  is still in the service of the Nigerian Army.

Brigadier General Attahiru, who was represented by Colonel John Agim, made the disclosure at the Joint Security Information Managers briefing, held at the Defence Headquarters.

Agim said: "With regards to Major Al Mustapha's release, well, I want to confirm that he is still in the Army and the case is going to be handled by the Army administration in line with the harmonised terms and conditions of service".

The former Chief Security Officer to the late maximum ruler, General Sani Abacha stood trial for the murder of the late Kudirat Abiola and was consequently clamped into prison for the 15 years the trial lasted
