The wife of the president, Dame Patience Jonathan has declared that she is fit and healthy contrary to earlier report in a section of the media that shehas been flown abroad for medical treatment due to failing health condition.

She debunked the ill health report when she paid a visit to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed, to commiserate with him over the death of his brother.
Dame Jonathan showed up at Mohammed’s residence at about 6.00 p.m on Sunday, barely two days after the report, accompanied by wives of some National Assembly members as well as other politicians.

She wore a flowing black gown and said she came to commiserate with the minister on the death of his elder brother, Mallam Yusuf Baba.
The obviously excited minister, who described the visit as symbolic, condemned the section of the press which, he said, had become political and biased.

He said the wife of the president could not have been sick as, according to him, she looked resplendent.
The minister alleged that the report on the health of Mrs Jonathan was concocted by mischief makers who did not wish the president and the nation well.

“Our mother cannot be sick. She is here resplendent; she is here beautifully standing tall above all mischief makers. She will continue to give us guidance and leadership,” he said.
