Scores of students feared dead as Boko Haram attacks girls college in Yobe


The dreaded Boko Haram sect struck this morning at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) in Buni Yadi, the headquarters of Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe state. Over 43 students and staff were feared dead while many others were abducted by gunmen

The gunmen also set ablaze many structures in the school, the council’s secretariat complex, High Court among other goverment and private establishments including telecommunication masts.
Yobe’s police chief Sanusi Rufai said that 29 people were killed but it was not immediately clear if all of the dead were students.
